Kevin R. Watkins was born in 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and earned his undergraduate degrees in History and English from the University of Utah in 1986.  After working for the City of San Francisco and Contra Costa Counta in Human Resources for three years he attended law school at the University of Idaho, graduating with a law degree in 1992.  Immediately after graduation Mr. Watkins started work as an Assistant City Attorney in the South Salt lake City Attorneys Office, and was appointed City Attorney in 1994.  In 1996 he continued his representation of local government in private practice until he was appointed as an assistant West Jordan City Attorney in 1998, then as City Attorney in 2000.  He continues his representation of local government, private companies and individuals.

Mr. Watkins resides in Farmington with his wife and eight children, and enjoys cycling, reading, and history.
